KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Appalachian State women's cross country will run at the VertCross Invitational on Friday at 4 p.m. in its final competition before the Sun Belt Championships.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
App State continued its strong 2018 campaign by winning the USC Upstate Invitational on Sept. 29. The win was the second straight meet the Mountaineers have won. In all, the Black and Gold recorded three of the top-five finishers in the race and nine of the top-20 overall.
Phylissa Greeley continued her strong season by winning her second straight race, crossing in 18:04.8.
Izzy Evely recorded a third-place finish in 18:14.15 and
Emily Fedders was fourth with a time of 18:17.7.
Samantha Kolor finished sixth in 18:21.9 and
Katelyn Butler was ninth in 18:30.1. Also finishing in the top-20 for the Black and Gold was
Sarah Hajnos (11th in 18:35.8),
Elisa Sargent (12th in 18:41.6),
Megan Scannell (18:50.8) and
Sarah Venable (19th in 18:57.2).
NEXT UP
Following an off weekend, Appalachian State will compete at the Sun Belt Championships in Mobile, Ala. on Oct. 27. The Mountaineers won the title in 2016 and finished second last season.
