Kirchhoff Joins App State Soccer as Assistant Coach

BOONE, N.C. – App State Soccer has hired Kris Kirchhoff to its staff as an assistant coach, head coach Aimee Haywood announced Thursday.

Kirchhoff comes to the High Country after two seasons as an assistant at Carson-Newman. While helping to lead the Eagles, Kirchhoff coached four all-conference athletes, with three garnering first-team all-league honors.

"I'm really excited to add Kris to the staff," Haywood said. "He's a great fit in terms of character and aligns with our team's core values of integrity, industriousness and passion. Kris' skill is a great complement to our staff, and he will help us to continue to elevate our program in every way."

Kirchhoff previously spent two years at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, where he helped the program achieve historic marks. In 2022, he helped lead the program to its first Mid-South Conference tournament championship, while also defeating its highest ranked opponent in program history that same season. He also assisted in coaching Angeline Kieh to All-America honors.

"I am beyond excited to join this incredible program," Kirchhoff said. "Aimee and Mark have done an outstanding job transforming the program, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help continue that trend and take App State Soccer to the next level. This is certainly a milestone moment in my career, and I am blessed to be at a university with such great facilities, a wonderful staff and incredible players."

Prior to his stop in Campbellsville, Kirchoff played three seasons at Trinity Christian College from 2016-18. He was a three-year starter and captain of the squad his senior season. He earned CCAC Scholar-Athlete twice and was a winner of the Keith Albers award. Kirchhoff graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Exercise Studies from Trinity in 2018.

After his graduation, he pursued his master's in organizational leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in 2020, while also assisting with the men's soccer program.

He received his first assistant coach role back at his alma mater, Trinity Christian College, where he assisted both the men's and women's programs in 2021. Kirchhoff holds a USSF National 'D' Coaching License.
