MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — A long bus trip Saturday sets the stage for a long Sunday of competition for App State Wrestling.
Starting at noon Sunday, App State will participate in back-to-back-to-back duals as part of the Mountaineer Quad hosted by No. 20 West Virginia in Hope Coliseum (formerly WVU Coliseum).
Noon — vs. Princeton
1:30 p.m. — vs. Glenville State
3 p.m. — vs. No. 20 WVU
The only App State dual being streamed is the West Virginia matchup, with availability on ESPN+. The only confirmed live scoring via Track is also the West Virginia matchup.
App State split Journeymen's WrangleMania duals last weekend in Pennsylvania, losing to Navy before beating Hofstra. With three duals Sunday, the Mountaineers likely will use different lineups with only a few examples of a starter competing in all three duals.
West Virginia could have ranked wrestlers competing at as many as seven of 10 weights, with a pair of top-10 wrestlers on the roster.
Princeton, which has top-20 wrestlers at four of 10 weights, led 19-9 against No. 19 Pitt on Friday night before losing 20-19 with 11 points over the last two matches via a tech fall at 197 and pin in the heavyweight finale.
Glenville State is a successful Division II program with a campus located about 90 minutes from Morgantown. It has returned two of its four Division II All-Americans from last season and is coached by West Virginia native Dylan Cottrell, who had a standout season as an App State wrestler in 2013 (SoCon champion and Freshman of the Year) before transferring to his home-state Mountaineers in Morgantown.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
