2024-25: SoCon All-Freshman Team honoree ... Had a 19-14 overall record at 141 pounds, including a 4-5 record in duals and a 3-4 mark in SoCon duals ... Went 1-2 at the SoCon Championship tournament … Pulled upset in his opening-round match at the SoCon Championship, winning a 10-6 decision against fourth-seeded AJ Rallo from Bellarmine after jumping ahead 7-0 in the first period and sealing the win with a late takedown … Took over as App State’s full-time starter on Jan. 12 for the team’s second SoCon dual ... Improved to 3-3 in SoCon duals with a first-period tech fall against Davidson ... Was 2-0 in SoCon duals following a 4-1 decision against Presbyterian’s Ryan Luna, as Hernandez followed Luna’s second-period rideout in a scoreless match with a minute-plus ride in the third before producing four near fall points from his top position ... Made first career start at The Citadel on Jan. 12 and recorded a takedown in the first 10 seconds of a 14-3 major decision ... Had a hand raised in a home dual at Varsity Gym for the first time vs. Duke, winning by a 19-1 tech fall ... 2023-24: Officially went 4-3 as a redshirting true freshman who wrestled attached during the first semester …  Placed third at the Mountaineer Invitational with a 3-1 record, including a 4-1 win against a part-time starter from North Carolina … Had a 3-4 mark in unattached matches during the second semester.

High School: Three-time state champion and four-time state qualifier in North Carolina … State 1-A champion at 138 pounds as a senior with a 52-2 record … Won state final by tech fall …  MVP of the 1A dual-team state championship as a senior … Dropping down to 132 pounds, secured pin against the reigning state champ at that weight to help lead Uwharrie Charter to a 39-36 victory in the final against Avery County, which had beaten Uwharrie Charter in the previous two finals … State 1-A champion at 132 pounds as a junior who went 49-3 … State 1-A champion at 120 pounds as a sophomore at Montgomery Central High School with a 25-2 record … Went 54-8 while reaching state quarterfinals at 106 pounds as a freshman … Placed seventh at NHSCA senior nationals … Member of the academic honor roll … Born March 26, 2005.
