BETHLEHEM, Pa. — App State Wrestling is embarking on a busy weekend in Bethlehem, with a pair of season-opening duals Saturday, then round-robin individual competition Sunday as part of the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.
The Journeymen's WrangleMania portion of the weekend will involve 10 schools being part of a combined nine duals Saturday at Liberty High School. App State will face Navy at 11:30 a.m. and Hofstra at 1:30 p.m., with both matches occurring on Mat 3.
With nearly 20 wrestlers making the trip, the Mountaineers will be well-represented in the round robin competition Sunday. Wrestlers from App State, Army, Binghamton, Bloomsburg, Clarion, Columbia, Duke, Franklin & Marshall, Harvard, Hofstra, Indiana, Lehigh, LIU, Lock Haven, Maryland, Navy, Northern Iowa, Penn, Penn State, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, and Virginia are slated to compete.
Wrestlers will begin competing in small groups, with the winners of those pools advancing and competing to become group champions within their weight classes.
Fans can live stream the action on the subscription-based FloWrestling, and live results will be available at FloArena.
App State has three wrestlers in the national rankings from Flo or Intermat following its season-opening appearance at the Southeast Open.
Navy has a ranked wrestler on the roster at five of 10 weights after opening the season with a 20-12 loss to Pittsburgh, then finishing behind only Nebraska and Pittsburgh in team points at the Navy Classic.
Hofstra, which will face Duke before facing App State on Saturday afternoon, went 7-6 overall and 4-2 in EIWA duals last season.
App State's 2025-26 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
