BOONE, N.C. — App State Wrestling has announced its 2025-26 schedule, a slate packed with high-profile duals, big-name tournaments and key SoCon matchups that will test the Mountaineers from November through March.
Led by head coach
JohnMark Bentley, who is entering his 17th season, the Mountaineers have lost four veteran starters but are returning a large group of accomplished wrestlers from the team that won SoCon regular season and tournament titles last season.
Sunday afternoon visits to Varsity Gym from NC State on Nov. 30 (a day after a home football game closes that program's regular season) and from The Citadel on Feb. 8 (Super Bowl Sunday) highlight a home schedule with five duals and two tournaments.
Season tickets are now available for
renewal or
purchase.
General admission season tickets with sideline bleacher seating are available at the low cost of $70 for the seven home events. For faculty/staff, the discounted price is $60.
The endline seating introduced last season, facing the new competition mat and the Varsity Gym scoreboard, will again be in place as a premium seating option for the 2025-26 season.
A season ticket in the Premium Gold section — which has a reserved seat that includes a seatback, a cupholder and more leg room than a traditional bleacher seat — costs $100. A season ticket in the Premium Black section, which is a general admission seat (that also has a seatback) within the Premium area, outside of the Premium Gold seats, costs $85.
SEASON TICKETS:
General admission: $70 ($60 for faculty-staff)
Premium Gold seating: $100
Premium Black seating: $85
Prices for single-match tickets will be released at a later date, with the visit from NC State serving as a Varsity Plus match, so season tickets are the best value when multiple trips to Varsity Gym are planned. Being a season ticket holder who supports the Mountaineers also enhances the ability to purchase NCAA Championships tickets through App State.
The home schedule includes conference duals against The Citadel, Bellarmine, Gardner-Webb and VMI.
NC State is a perennial top-10 team nationally, while The Citadel is expected to return most of its starters from a team that finished second in the 2025 SoCon Championship tournament after placing third in the regular season standings.
In addition to the home matchup with NC State, the Mountaineers have road matches against West Virginia (ranked No. 24 to end the 2024-25 season), Virginia Tech (ranked No. 8 to end the 2024-25 season), Campbell and Chattanooga.
Home duals again will be streamed live on FloWrestling, which has a subscription model.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
