BOONE, N.C. — During the 2023 fall semester, a total of 226 student-athletes from App State were named to the Chancellor's List or Dean's List.
The 68 student-athletes on the Chancellor's List were full-time students with a GPA of 3.85 or higher during the 2023 fall semester, with inclusion determined solely by the performance in courses that earn credits toward graduation.
The 158 members of the Dean's List either posted a GPA of 3.45 or higher while carrying 12-14 academic hours during the 2023 fall semester or a GPA of 3.25 or higher while carrying at least 15 academic hours during the 2023 fall semester.
Every athletics team at App State had multiple members of the Dean's List, and 16 teams (counting App State Cheer) had at least one Chancellor's List member.
App State student-athletes ended the fall with a 3.17 semester GPA, contributing to a 3.19 cumulative GPA for all student-athletes. That extended their impressive streak to 23 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
In September, when the Sun Belt Conference announced its academic honors for 2022-23 school year, App State ranked in the top four among the 14 football-playing Sun Belt institutions with a combined 223 honorees among the lists for the Academic Honor Roll (league-high 102 members), Commissioner's List (109 members) and 1A Far Academic Excellence Award (12 members).
