High School
Samuel comes to App State from Northshore High School in Slidell, La., where she experienced a stellar career in both the circle and at the plate. In 2022 alone, she struck out 220 batters over 161 innings and pitched to an ERA of 1.909. For her career, she would amass an impressive 355 strikeouts. As a hitter, Samuel batted above .450 all four years of her career, while also hitting 26 home runs and driving in 112 runs. She was twice named the District MVP, a 5A all-district team member and was twice named to the all-metro team and the all-state Tammany Parrish team, where she was named both the hitter of the year and pitcher of the year.

The Slidell, La., native also played five seasons of travel ball with D1vision, a team that was nationally ranked in the Top 30 by Extra Innings. Samuel pitched to a 2.41 ERA over her five seasons with the team while also striking out 272 batters. As a hitter for the club, she batted .425 with 31 home runs and 107 RBI.
