As has become a summer tradition, appstatesports.com is counting down Appalachian State University athletics' 30 most memorable games, matches and meets from the 2014-15 academic year. This year's countdown begins on Monday, July 6 and will continue until Tuesday, August 4, the opening day of Appalachian State football's fall camp.

Apps Win Cape Fear National Intercollegiate

LELAND, N.C. — Savanna Wood finished in first place and powered Appalachian State University women's golf to win the Cape Fear National Intercollegiate on Monday. The Apps finished with a team score of 626 after shooting a final round 310.
Wood was one stroke back of the leader entering the final round and fired a final round 4-over 76 for a total of 150. The Boone N.C. native was 6-over on the tournament and was her first career victory.
Haley Zagoria improved her second round score by eight strokes shooting a 2-over 74. Zagoria jumped eight spots up the leader board finishing tied for fifth. Finishing tied for tenth place was Hannah Craver. Craver carded a final round 80 to finish 15-over.
Emily Stinson matched Craver's 80 and finished tied for 14th. Madalyn Davis cut five strokes off her first round score, shooting an 82 and finishing tied for 21st.
The Mountaineers had a three shot lead after the first round on Sunday. The Mountaineers shot a first round 316 as a team.
Wood led the way for Appalachian with a 2-over 74. Wood was only one shot back of leader Countney Yanch (Gardner-Webb). Craver shot a first round 79 and was tied for sixth place.
Joining Wood and Craver in the top ten was Stinson. Stinson was tied for tenth after shooting a 9-over 81. Zagoria finished day one tied for 13th place, posting a 10-over 82. Davis rounded out the Mountaineer lineup with a 15-over 87.
The Mountaineers are back in action at the Low Country Intercollegiate scheduled for this Saturday at Moss Creek in Hilton Head S.C.
