This year's countdown begins on Monday, July 6 and will continue until Tuesday, August 4, the opening day of Appalachian State football's fall camp.

Men's Golf Wins CSU Invitational After Rain Out

AURORA, Ohio — Heavy rain in northeast Ohio prevented the field from teeing off the final round at the Cleveland State Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was shortened to the 36 holes completed on Monday. With Appalachian in the lead after day one, the Mountaineers will take home first place.
After 36 holes Appalachian State University men's golf led the pack at the Cleveland State Invitational. The Mountaineers shot a combined 3-over 579 on the 7,049 yard Barrington Country Club.
After shooting a 5-over 293 in the first round, the Apps fired a tournament best 2-under 286 in the second round to close out day one.
Strong performances from Andrew Furr and Lee Mitchell helped Appalachian capture the victory in their first tournament of the season. Furr tied for first place at 3-under after an impressive 68 in round two, which was the lowest round by anyone in the first two rounds.
Mitchell also performed well posting an even 72 in round one and a 2-under 70 in round two to finish tied for third.
Eric Eberspeaker and Caleb Keck both posted back-to-back rounds of 2-over 74 to finish tied for 23rd place. Rounding out the Mountaineers was Patrick Moriarty,who finished 7-over after two rounds, good for a 44th-place tie.
Competing as an individual, Chance Watson shot a 7-over 151 and finished tied for 37th.
