CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The App State field hockey team will take on Queens on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 7-3 win over the Davidson Wildcats last Sunday.
Sophia Baxter,
Lise Boekaar, and
Baylie Phillips all scored against Davidson, pushing the Mountaineers to their second seven-goal performance of the season.
Boekaar scored four goals and had an assist against the Wildcats, giving her nine points on the weekend. Sunday's performance also moved her to second all-time in career assists (23) and tied her for sixth in single-season assists with eight.

Scouting the Mountaineers
After winning back-to-back regular-season MAC championships, the Mountaineers have carried the momentum into the 2025 season.
Over the first three games, the Mountaineers lead the conference in goals (17), and are tied for first in assists (13), shots on goal per game (11.33) and scoring average (5.67).
Boekaar has been on a tear this season, leading the MAC in goals (7), assists (8), and total points (22). Her play over the opening weekend earned her the MAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after being responsible for the first 10 goals of the season.
The 2025 team features three players who earned All-MAC selections in 2024. Midfielder Boekaar was named to the All-MAC First Team and the NFHCA South Region First Team.
Henriette Stegen was named to the All-MAC Second Team, while
Frederique Grimbergen earned a spot on the All-MAC Freshman Team.
Six Mountaineers are on the 2025 NFHCA Division I Watch List: Returners Baxter, Boekaar, Grimbergen, Stegen, and newcomers
Kate Richardson and
Calista Schwartz. Baxter represented the Mountaineers at the Senior Nexus Championship last summer.

Sarah Perkins, and forward
Bridget Donovan will serve as captains for the 2025 squad.
Scouting the Royals
Queens enters the matchup after a 2-13 overall season in 2024. They are led by head coach Brandi Kist, who is in her 10th season at the helm.
The Royals return 14 players from last season, welcoming three newcomers to the 2025 squad.
Series History
App State defeated Queens 5-0 last year in the High Country. The Mountaineers are on a three-game winning streak in the all-time series against the Royals and hold a 3-0 overall record.
Twelve returning players saw playing time against the Royals in 2024. Phillips,
Darby Reyburn, and Stegen all scored in the matchup.
