TOWSON, Md. – The App State field hockey team takes on the Georgetown Hoyas on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Mountaineers are coming off a dominant 7-1 victory over the Towson Tigers in their season opener.
Lise Boekaar was a standout in Friday's game, scoring two goals and assisting on the other five, making her responsible for every goal. The seven goals are the most the Mountaineers have scored in a season opener since a 7-1 win against Wake Forest in 1981.

Scouting the Mountaineers
Coming off back-to-back regular-season MAC championships, the Mountaineers look to carry that momentum into the 2025 season.
The 2025 squad features three players who earned All-MAC selections in 2024. Midfielder
Lise Boekaar was named to the All-MAC First Team and the NFHCA South Region First Team.
Henriette Stegen was named to the All-MAC Second Team, while
Frederique Grimbergen earned a spot on the All-MAC Freshman Team.
Six Mountaineers are on the 2025 NFHCA Division I Watch List:
Sophia Baxter, Boekaar, Grimbergen, newcomers
Kate Richardson and
Calista Schwartz, and Stegen. Baxter represented the Mountaineers at the Senior Nexus Championship this past summer.

Claire Grenis, defender
Sarah Perkins and forward
Bridget Donovan will serve as captains for the 2025 squad.
Scouting the Hoyas
Georgetown enters the matchup after a 3-14 overall (1-6 Big East) season in 2024. The Hoyas are led by head coach Christy Banks, who is in her fifth season at the helm.
The Hoyas return five of their top six goal-scorers and welcome eight newcomers for the 2025 season.
Series History
App State defeated Georgetown 3-0 in last year's opening weekend in the High Country. The Mountaineers are on a three-game winning streak in the all-time series against the Hoyas and hold an 8-7 overall record.
Twelve returning players saw playing time against the Hoyas in 2024.
Kassie Paul and Stegen both scored a goal in last year's matchup.
