BOONE, N.C. – Coming off consecutive MAC regular-season Championships, App State Field Hockey head coach Emily Dinsmore announced the 2025 schedule on Friday.
The Mountaineers will play an 18-game regular season, with eight being played at Dr. Jan C. Watson Field at the Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field Hockey Complex.
"Our team is excited and ready to compete for another championship this fall," Dinsmore said. "We will play a couple of ranked opponents in our nonconference schedule that will set us up well once we start conference play. We had a very successful spring season, and we can't wait to keep it rolling as we head into August.
"We have some of the best fans in the MAC, and we are excited to welcome them back to Dr. Jan C. Watson Field at the Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field Hockey Complex for all our home games and see them on the road as we travel. It is going to be an exciting season, so come out and support your Mountaineers!"
App State opens the season on the road, taking on Towson in the season opener on Aug. 29, followed by Georgetown on Aug. 31. After an opening weekend road trip, the Mountaineers will host their first contest in the High Country on Sunday, Sept. 7, when the team welcomes the Davidson Wildcats.
The Mountaineers will then hit the road for the next two matchups, taking on Queens on Sept. 9, followed by a matchup against North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sept. 12.
App State will return home on Friday, Sept. 19, to open its MAC schedule against the Ohio Bobcats. The team will remain in Boone following their league opener to host America East opponent Vermont on Sept. 21.
Following a quick road trip on Sept. 26 to face MAC opponent Bellarmine, the Mountaineers will play three straight games at home, taking on league foes James Madison (Sept. 28) and Miami (Ohio) (Oct. 3) before concluding the three-game home stand against Big East opponent Liberty on Oct. 5.
The Mountaineers will then hit the road for the next three games, taking on Central Michigan on Oct. 10, Michigan State on Oct. 12 and Longwood on Oct. 17. The matchup with the Spartans will be just the second meeting in program history, with the previous contest coming in 2000.
App State will then face the UMass Minutemen in the High Country on Oct. 19 for the first time in program history, followed by a two-game road trip at Ball State on Oct. 24 and Wake Forest on Oct. 26.
App State will conclude the regular season on its home turf, squaring off against Kent State on Oct. 31 for senior day.
The 2025 MAC Tournament will be held Nov. 5-8 in Harrisonburg, Va.
Fans will have two chances to see the Mountaineer field hockey team take the field before regular season play kicks off, as the squad will play two exhibition games on Aug. 22 and Aug. 24. The Mountaineers will welcome North Carolina to Boone on Aug. 22 before traveling to Liberty on Aug. 24.
