CLEVELAND — Three members of App State's field hockey team earned All-MAC awards for the 2025 season, the conference announced Tuesday.
Sophia Baxter and
Lise Boekaar were named to the All-MAC first team, and
Hadley Kuzmicky was selected to the second team.
Sophia Baxter (All-MAC First Team)
Baxter had a strong junior season as a center back, tying for the team lead with 13 goals offensively while also recording three defensive saves. She anchored an App State defense that tallied four shutouts this season. A true two-way threat, Baxter prevented opposing fast breaks all season while also available as a true scoring threat on penalty corners.
Lise Boekaar (All-MAC First Team)
Boekaar had a record-breaking season from the midfield, totaling 13 goals and an App State-high 19 assists. She broke the program's all-time career assist record against Central Michigan on Oct. 10. Boekaar registered a five-assist game and two three-assist games. Early in the season, she was responsible for the team's first 10 goals, either scoring or assisting on all of them. Boekaar scored the game-winning goal against then-No. 18 James Madison, which propelled the Mountaineers to their first national ranking at No. 17. She finished the year ranked in the program's top 10 for career points, single-season goals, and single-season points.
Hadley Kuzmicky (All-MAC Second Team)
Kuzmicky wrapped up her collegiate career with a standout senior campaign, finishing third on App State with 10 goals (a new career high). She recorded two two-goal games, coming against Queens and Kent State, and scored a crucial goal in the 5-4 victory over No. 18 James Madison. Kuzmicky tallied a total of 24 points this season, surpassing her previous high of 13 points set during her sophomore season.
