BOONE, N.C. — After a historic season that featured the program's first national ranking at No. 17, the App State field hockey program announced its 2026 schedule.
The schedule features nine games with free admission for fans at the Dr. Jan C. Watson Field at the Brandon and Erica M. Adcock Field Hockey Complex, including visits from two ACC opponents in Wake Forest and North Carolina.
"We are really excited for the upcoming season," Dinsmore said. "We have a solid group of returners and a great group of freshmen that are bought into our team culture. App Nation will have a lot to cheer about at home and away games this fall. Roll Neers!"
Following two home scrimmages against Queens (Aug. 16) and Liberty (Aug. 22), the Mountaineers kick off their home slate against Towson on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. before hosting Georgetown on Aug. 30 at noon. The Mountaineers have opened their season against Towson and Georgetown every year since 2021.
The team hits the road to face Davidson on Sept. 2 and American on Sept. 6 before returning to the High Country for a three-game homestand.
The Mountaineers first take on Queens on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. before hosting their first ACC opponent of the season, Wake Forest, on Sept. 13 at noon. They then begin Mid-American Conference (MAC) play against Bellarmine on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. before hitting the road for a three-game stretch.
The Mountaineers end the month by facing Liberty on Sept. 20, Ohio on Sept. 25 and Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 27 before making a quick pit stop back in Boone to host Ball State on Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.
App State has a two-game road trip against MAC opponent UMass (Oct. 9) and Vermont (Oct. 11) before returning to conference play against Central Michigan in Boone on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
The Mountaineers close out their road slate against Kent State (Oct. 18) and James Madison (Oct. 23) before finishing the regular season in the High Country. That final stretch features a final nonconference matchup against North Carolina on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. and the final MAC matchup against Longwood on Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. for the annual senior game.
The MAC Field Hockey Championship will be held in Oxford, Ohio, on Miami's campus from Nov. 4-7.
