CLEVELAND – Three Mountaineers for the App State field hockey team garnered All-MAC honors, with
Sophia Baxter earning first team honors, freshman
Chloe Hook being named to the second team, and the twin duo of Chloe and
Morgan Hook both earning spots on the All-Freshman team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Sophia Baxter joins the All-MAC First Team for the second consecutive season, continuing to anchor the App State defense while proving to be one of the league's most effective two-way players. She tied for the team lead in total points with 17 on the season, scoring five goals while dishing out a team-high seven assists. Against Central Michigan on Oct. 16, Baxter broke through offensively, completing her first career hat trick by converting a penalty stroke, finishing a penalty corner and driving the ball herself from beyond the 23-meter line to cap off the score. For her performance that weekend, she was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week, her first award of the 2026 season after earning a program-record four honors in 2025.
Freshman
Chloe Hook has been a major spark for the Mountaineers offensively, leading the team with eight goals on the season and tying Baxter with 17 points. She scored five goals over the first five games of the season and finished the year with three game-winners. Her most impactful goal came in overtime against Georgetown on Aug. 30, when she scored her first collegiate goal with less than a minute remaining in OT to secure the victory and avoid a shootout.
Morgan Hook joins her twin sister on the All-MAC Freshman Team following a standout inaugural season. She started in 16 of 18 games, recording two goals and one assist from the midfield position. Hook scored her first career goal in a crucial MAC contest against Kent State on Oct. 18, netting the game's opening goal to give the Mountaineers an early lead in an eventual 3-2 overtime win.
