CLEVELAND – App State forward
Charlotte Bosma and goalkeeper
Claire Grenis were named MAC players of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Â
Bosma receives Co-Offensive Player of the Week, and Grenis receives Defensive Player of the Week following two shutout wins over Towson and Georgetown.
Â
Over the weekend, Bosma would score two goals, getting 13 shots up in the process, nine of which being on target. In the Towson matchup, Bosma would score at the end of the first period, breaking the scoreless draw. Bosma would finish Friday's game with five shots, all being on target and a goal.
Â
It would be more of the same for Bosma against Georgetown, as she would score the first goal in the game, breaking the scoreless draw in the second period. Bosma would end Sunday's game with four shots on target and a goal.
Â
Grenis had a stellar weekend, not allowing a goal to be scored in 120 minutes of play. Grenis would finish Friday's game against Towson with two saves, and four saves against Georgetown on Sunday.
Â
Last weekend was a weekend of firsts, as both Bosma and Grenis received player-of-the-week honors for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Â
The Mountaineers will hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to Virginia to face the Richmond Spiders on Friday at 5 p.m.
