MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — App State Men's Golf, led by a 4-under 68 in the second round from top finisher
Herman Huus, placed 13th at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.
Competing as an individual,
Rob Bergevin recorded a hole-in-one on the 241-yard, par-3 eighth hole during Tuesday's final round.
Huus led App State with a 3-over total of 219 (76-68-75) to tie for 37th place for the Mountaineers, who finished ahead of Sun Belt counterpart ODU with a 31-over total (305-294-295— 895).
James Gradisek, who posted his first under-par round as a Mountaineer on Monday, tied for 52nd at 5 over (76-71-74—221).
Alex Martin's 73 led App State in the final round and contributed to his 223 total.
Charlie O'Shea and
Ben Locker also were part of App State's five-man lineup, with O'Shea shooting a 74 in the final round and Locker firing an opening-round 77.
Bergevin shot a second-round 72, and his ace was part of a final-round 75.
Santa Clara won the team title by three strokes over Campbell. Dylan Teeter (UTEP), Jack Wieler (Elon) and JP Odland (Santa Clara) tied for medalist honors at 9 under.
The 2024-25 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
