MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – App State Field Hockey had 11 student-athletes named to the 2023 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
The 11 players to receive this honor were
Sophia Baxter,
Charlotte Bosma, Sarah Calley
, Addie Clark,
Mamie Clark,
Ruby Clark,
Samantha Connors, Bridgit Donovan,
Claire Grenis,
Hadley Kuzmicky and
Sarah Perkins.
App State's honorees are comprised of two freshmen, four sophomores, four juniors and one graduate student.
Addie Clark the 2023 MAC Goalkeeper of the Year, was a four-time recipient of this honor.
Eight of the 11 Mountaineers saw a return to the list in 2023 after making the list during the 2022 season.
The Mountaineers have had 11 or more players honored for seven straight years since 2016.
This honor acknowledges those who had a 3.5 or higher grade-point average during the course of the fall semester.
Three Division I awards remain to be announced. The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on Feb. 19, NFHCA Academic Team on Feb. 21 and the National Scholar Athlete on Feb. 26
