Rupa Promoted to Tennis Associate Head Coach

BOONE, N.C. – App State Tennis head coach Hannah Fetters announced the promotion of assistant Cedric Rupa to associate head coach on Wednesday.

"Cedric has been an exceptional assistant, so this promotion is truly a reflection of his commitment, skill and passion for the team," Fetters said. "We are excited to have him as part of our staff and can't wait for many more seasons ahead."

Rupa arrived at App State as an assistant in January 2023. In his time in Boone, he has aided the Mountaineers in making the Sun Belt quarterfinals in 2023 and their first-ever Sun Belt final in 2024.

Rupa's coaching has also helped push Savannah Dada-Mascoll to achieve All-Sun Belt first-team recognition during her freshman and sophomore years.

"It's been a privilege to have the opportunity to work with this team for the past two years and to be part of the App State community," Rupa said. "I'm always excited to work with Hannah and all of the student-athletes as we continue to strive to push this program to new levels."

The Mountaineers recently finished their fall season at the ITA Regional and are scheduled to start spring play on Jan. 17, when they will take on VCU in Richmond, Va.
