CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – App State Tennis senior
Savannah Dada-Mascoll concluded play at the ITA Regional tournament as co-champion, a historic achievement that included defeating three nationally ranked opponents. She is the first player in App State women's tennis history to win the tournament as a single.
This marks Dada-Mascoll's second ITA championship. She previously won the doubles title with
Isabela Romanichen during the 2024-2025 season at the ITA Conference Masters Championships.
Dada-Mascoll opened the tournament with a tough three-set victory over Sia Cariov of College of Charleston to advance. The next day, she moved on to the Round of 16 after an opponent's withdrawal in the second set.
She then picked up her first ranked win of the tournament in a three-set thriller, taking down No. 72 Mia Slama of North Carolina State to reach the quarterfinals. In straight sets, Dada-Mascoll defeated No. 24 Kaitlyn Carnicella of South Carolina, securing her second ranked victory of the tournament and moving her into the final four.
To close out her week, Dada-Mascoll took down No. 12 Theadora Rabman of North Carolina to punch her ticket to the finals. She was named co-champion after the other finalist did not participate.
Dada-Mascoll will next represent the Mountaineers at the ITF W15 Sumter (Pro Circuit) in Sumter, S.C., from Oct. 27 through Nov. 2.
