Savannah Dada-Mascoll defeated the nation's No. 1 player, DJ Bennett of Auburn, in the first round of the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday. She then followed her thrilling first-round victory with a straight-set win over No. 51 Josie Usereau of Arizona on Thursday to advance to the Round of 16.
Dada-Mascoll opened her match against Bennett with a dominant 6-2 win in the first set. After dropping the second set and falling behind 0-2 in the deciding set, she won six consecutive games to claim a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Bennett, who was an ITA All-American in singles in 2025.
On Thursday, Dada-Mascoll continued her winning ways, securing a straight-set win in the Round of 32. She took an early 6-1 lead in the first set and never looked back. The second set was a back-and-forth affair, with Usereau and Dada-Mascoll trading games. Tied at four games apiece, Dada-Mascoll pulled ahead, winning three consecutive games to clinch a 6-1, 6-4 victory to advance to the Round of 16.
Dada-Mascoll will return to the court Friday, playing in the Round of 16 against No. 43 Tatum Evans of North Carolina. With a win, she would move on to the quarterfinal round, which will also be played on Friday.
