Mountaineers Set to Compete at NCAA Southeast Regional

BOONE, N.C. - The App State men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet, held at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C. on Friday. Senior Jasmine Donohue will represent the Mountaineers in the women's 6K, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday. The men's 10K race, which will feature seven Mountaineers, is set for 12 p.m.

The two the top teams from each of the nine regional meets will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, which are slated for Nov. 18 in Charlottesville, Va. Thirteen at-large teams will then be selected, based on the strength of their season and their performance at regionals, to fill out the 31 team field. The first four individual finishers not on a qualifying team and finished in the top-25 will advance to the championships. A total of 36 individuals automatically qualify and two are chosen at-large for a total of 38 individual qualifiers. The two at-large selections are the highest placing individual at the regional who were not automatic qualifiers.
