PORTLAND, Ore. – App State freshmen
Aidan Morrow and
Bryant Young rounded out the top 20 out of 51 competitors in the U20 men's 8K race at the USATF Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
"Aidan and Bryant both being in the top 20 was a solid end to their freshman cross country campaign," said men's distance coach
Brad Herbster. "Now we can focus on building speed and strength for the track season."
Morrow crossed the finish line with a time of 26:36.2, placing 17th overall. With a time of 26:42.7, Young finished 20th overall. The pair had made their collegiate debuts at the Virginia Invitational on Sept. 12. Additionally, both Young and Morrow clocked 8K personal bests at the Firetower Project Run this fall with times of 24:48.0 and 25:21.6, respectively.
Texas' Aidan Torres won Saturday's race with a time of 25:10.8.
The top six finishers were selected to represent Team USA at the 2026 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. on Jan. 10.
