GREENVILLE, N.C. — Led by a ninth-place finish from
Herman Huus and a tie for 13th from
Addison Beam, App State Men's Golf finished eighth among 14 teams at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina.
The Mountaineers had a 1-under 287 as a team in the final round and finished at 5-over 869 (291-291-287) through 54 holes.
Huus posted a 6-under total of 210 thanks to a pair of 3-under 69s on Monday, followed by an even-par 72 in the final round Tuesday.
Beam also opened the tournament with a 3-under 69 before closing with a pair of 72s.
The other final-round scorers for the Mountaineers were
Colin Browning (1-under 71) and
Sverrir Haraldsson (even-par 72).
Rob Bergevin shot a final-round 73.
Playing as individuals,
Aidan Browning tied for 56th overall with help from a 1-under 71 in the final round (78-74-71—223).
James Gradisek had a pair of 76s on Monday after being 3 over through his first 29 holes.
FAU won the team title at 30 under, and ECU's Lucas Augustsson was the medalist at 15 under (63-67-71—201).
