App State Baseball and Softball Announce 2022 Streaming Schedules

BOONE, N.C. – App State Athletics has announced its ESPN+ streaming schedule for the Mountaineers' 2022 home baseball and softball games.

The streaming schedule is tentative and subject to change.

The ESPN+ schedule for baseball includes 15 games in Boone, with four of the five home Sun Belt weekends included as well as midweek home games against East Tennessee State, High Point and Wake Forest. The home Sun Belt weekends scheduled to be streamed are the matchups against Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Texas State and Troy.

For softball, 15 home games will also be streamed on ESPN+, including three of the Mountaineers' four home Sun Belt weekends: battles with Louisiana, UTA and South Alabama. Home contests against Boston College, East Tennessee State (DH), North Carolina A&T and Western Carolina (DH) will also be streamed.

There are two weekends in which the Mountaineers are scheduled to play Sun Belt home series in both baseball and softball, so App State will offer an ESPN+ production for baseball on one of those weekends (April 1-3) and an ESPN+ production for softball on the other weekend (April 29-May 1 for Senior Weekend).

There are also two midweek dates in which the Mountaineers are scheduled to play home games in both baseball and softball, so App State will offer an ESPN+ production for baseball on April 12 and softball on April 26.

With a handful of home baseball games not scheduled for ESPN+, student-run WASU radio will broadcast a select number of non-ESPN+ games being played at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium. WASU can be heard on 90.5 FM in Boone, via its "Listen Live" link at https://www.wasuradio.com or by downloading its mobile app, which is available on Google Play and the App Store.

On the field, App State Baseball produced its first-ever Sun Belt Tournament win last season and a program-best Sun Belt Conference record of 11-10. The Mountaineers welcomed back all-conference honorees Tyler Tuthill, a junior left-handed pitcher, and Luke Drumheller, a junior infielder.

App State Softball also captured its first Sun Belt Tournament victory last season against Georgia State and finished the 2021 campaign at 27-19 overall. In December, head coach Shelly Hoerner agreed to a contract extension running through 2025.
