BOONE, N.C. - App State Field Hockey plays their first home game of the 2021 fall season this Friday at 6 p.m. against #24 James Madison. The teams will face off at Brandon and Erica M. Adcock Field.

This marks the fourth of seven non-conference match ups for the Mountaineers. Coming into Friday, they are 1-2, with losses against #11 Wake Forest and Georgetown. They won their first game against Towson and look to even up their record to 2-2.
Freshman
Sterre Molkenboer is leading the Black & Gold so far in the goals category with two that were both scored against Towson. On the season, she has taken 10 shots, seven of which were on target. Other players that have scored this season are
Sydney Lee,
Pauline Mangold,
Peyton Ritchey, and
Sarah Farrell, who each have one goal apiece.
Addie Clark and
Brenna Schoenbachler have been standouts on defense, with Clark recording 18 saves in three games and eight against Wake Forest alone. Schoenbachler got the rare defensive save against a talented Wake Forest offense.
James Madison has started their season 3-1 with their only loss coming against #20 Old Dominion. Eveline Zwager has been a force for the Duke's offense with six goals and one assist. They currently lead the historical series against App State 20-1-1.
After Friday's game, the Mountaineers will travel to Charlotte on Sunday, Sep. 12 for a neutral game against Ohio State. The match will be played at 1 p.m. and live stats will be provided.
