BOONE, N.C. — App State's final midweek home game of 2021 is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. against ETSU.
The game between the Mountaineers (16-26) and Buccaneers (20-22) will be streamed on ESPN+. As of Tuesday morning, tickets were still available for small-group seating at the outfield fire pits and outfield deck. To purchase or obtain more information about available options, contact

Playing a formidable schedule, App State is 16-16 this season against teams outside the top 50 of the RPI and 15-9 against teams outside the top 100.
In its first 2021 midweek game of the season on Feb. 23, App State was down to its last strike before completing a road rally and winning 5-4 at ETSU. The Mountaineers trailed 4-1 before scoring once in the seventh, once in the eighth and twice in the top of the ninth. Facing a 2-2 count with the bases loaded and two away in App State's final at-bat,
Phillip Cole drilled a single up the middle to bring home
Bailey Welch and
Kendall McGowan.
Noah Hall pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win.
Probable starter
Cam Roberts' first eight appearances of 2021 included one start: at ETSU in that late-February game. He pitched two scoreless innings on a "staff day" and has two starts in 28 career appearances.
App State holds a 79-58-1 lead in a series that dates back to 1955. The Mountaineers and Bucs were long-time rivals in the Southern Conference before App State moved to the Sun Belt Conference. ETSU's last visit to Boone occurred in 2017, when App State's Avery Jackson hit a walk-off homer in an 8-7 win.
