NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Atop the Sun Belt's East Division standings with a 6-3 league record, App State (13-15) takes a break from conference play to face Lipscomb (11-17) in Tennessee.
Playing in the Central time zone, the Eastern times for streaming this weekend's games are 7 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Games 1 and 3 will be on ESPN+, and Game 2 will be available on ESPN3.
The only previous meeting between the two programs was Lipscomb's 14-13 comeback win during the 1971 NAIA World Series in Phoenix, Ariz.
Lipscomb ranks in the top 50 nationally in stolen bases (34th with 41 in 28 games) and sacrifice bunts (46th with 16). The Bisons have played six games against teams from the SEC or ACC.
The Mountaineers are 4-3 in series openers this year with
Tyler Tuthill starting and 3-4 in weekend games with
Quinton Martinez starting. App State is 3-0 with bullpen standout
Noah Hall making a weekend start in each of its first three Sun Belt weekends.
Hall went 2-0 in the first two starts of his young career — with two runs allowed and 12 strikeouts in 11.0 innings — and allowed one run in the first five innings of his most-recent start. He finished with seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
App State has hit 17 homers, with six coming last weekend during its three-game series against Georgia State.
