Volleyball Returns Home to Host Georgia State and Georgia Southern

BOONE, N.C. -- App State volleyball hosts Georgia State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Georgia Southern on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+.

MASK POLICY
Face coverings are required in all indoor spaces on campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status you are actively eating or drinking.

SENIOR DAY
App State will honor six seniors prior to first serve on Friday. Daryn Armstrong, Anna Kincaid, Grace Kinsch, Sammy Luscher, Emma Reilly and Victoria Wilform will be honored for their contributions to the program.

THE SERIES
  • App State and Georgia State will meet for the 22nd time. App State leads the series 12-9, including a 3-2 win in Atlanta on Oct. 1,
  • App State and Georgia Southern meet for the second time this season and 56th time overall. The Eagles lead 38-17 in the series, including a 3-1 win in Statesboro on Oct. 3.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
  • App State enters play with a 7-17 mark. and 3-9 record in Sun Belt play.
  • On the season, Emma Reilly is one of five players to record over 400 digs on the season with 403, which sits fifth. Reilly is also fifth, averaging 4.48 digs per set.
  • In her career, Reilly has 2,080 digs, which is a program record. She also sits fifth all-time in Sun Belt history in career digs.
  • McCall Denny sits sixth in the Sun Belt, averaging 3.15 kills per set.
  • Victoria Wilform has reached double figures in kills in three straight contests and is averaging 11.67 kills per match and 3.18 kills per set during that span.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
  • Georgia State enters play at 6-16 on the seson and 3-9 in Sun Belt play.
  • Georgia State fell to Sun Belt West Division leader Texas State on Saturday 27-25, 25-20, 25-15.
  • Meisheia Griffin and Leah Wilcox paced the Panthers with eight kills each, while Julianna Truscott had seven. Olivia Kowalkowski (16) and Claire Lewis (10) each had double figure digs.
  • Griffin is averaging a league leading 1.27 blocks per set and also sits fourth in the conference with a .312 hitting percentage. As a team, the Panthers sit third in the conference, averaging 2.27 blocks per set.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • Georgia Southern sits at 13-9 on the season and 6-6 in Sun Belt play.
  • The Eagles rank fifth in the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.218), fifth in blocks (2.22 per set) and sixth in aces (1.37 per set). Georgia Southern also ranks fifth in opponent hitting percentage, holding its opponents to .184.
  • Baylor Bumford is hitting .356 on the season, which is second in the conference. Grace Sadler is averaging 0.38 service aces per set, which sits third, and 8.70 assists per set, which sits fifth.
UP NEXT
App State concludes the regular season with a pair of contests against Coastal Carolina. The Mountaineers and Chanticleers will square off in Boone on Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. on ESPN+, followed by a return contest in Conway on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
