BOONE, N.C. – App State Volleyball has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, the second year under the direction of head coach
Chad Sutton.
This fall's slate will feature four nonconference tournaments, two additional nonconference matches and 16 Sun Belt Conference matches, with Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Louisiana and Marshall coming to Boone for two league matches on consecutive days.
The Mountaineers' nonconference schedule includes matchups against regional opponents and strong mid-major programs, highlighted by contests at Clemson and NC State.
Season tickets are
available to purchase or renew for $75. Courtside seating will again be available, as will discounted season tickets for App State faculty and staff. Courtside seats and faculty/staff tickets can be
renewed online by 2025 ticket holders, while first-time customers should call the ticket office at 828-262-7733 for those options.
"I believe this schedule is paramount to our team's success now and into the future." Sutton said. "This year's schedule features a full slate of matches, eight North Carolina opponents and a combination of great RPI and P4 teams. I prioritized our region and wanted to give ourselves and App Nation a chance to see us grow and develop before conference play."
The Mountaineers will open the 2026 campaign with exhibition matches against Queens in Boone on Aug. 15 and ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn., on Aug. 18.
App State officially opens regular season play from Aug. 28-30 with a weekend tournament at Charlotte featuring matches against N.C. A&T, Charlotte and Bryant.
The Black and Gold will continue tournament play Sept. 4-6 in Clemson, S.C., where it will take on ECU, UNCG and Clemson. App State will then travel to Elon for a midweek clash on Sept. 8 before returning to Boone to host William & Mary, North Florida and Western Carolina in a home tournament from Sept. 11-13. The Mountaineers conclude nonconference action with a Sept. 15 road contest against NC State before traveling to Richmond, Ky., for matches against Tennessee Tech, Presbyterian and host EKU from Sept. 18-19.
App State's conference slate begins on the road against Old Dominion on Sept. 24-25 before the Mountaineers return to Boone to host Coastal Carolina on Oct. 2-3 and Georgia Southern on Oct. 8-9. The Black and Gold will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., for a pair of matches against James Madison on Oct. 15-16 before hosting Louisiana on Oct. 23-24.
The Mountaineers have matches at Georgia State on Oct. 29-30 before returning home to host Marshall on Nov. 5-6. App State wraps up the regular season in Troy, Ala., with matches against the Trojans on Nov. 13-14.
