BOONE, N.C. - App State field hockey (6-6, 2-3 MAC) is set to host its final home game of the 2021 fall campaign this Friday at 4 p.m. against No. 22 Kent State (10-4, 4-1 MAC).
Friday's game will be Senior Day for the squad. App State will recognize seniors Anna Smarrelli, Friederike Stegen, Sydney Lee, Ines Yofre and Brenna Schoenbachler before the game.

App State has started the season 2-3 in conference play, with wins against Ohio and Bellarmine. Last time out, Lee, Stegen and Sarah Farrell scored goals to lead the Mountaineers in a 3-1 defeat over La Salle.
The top two goalkeepers in the MAC in save percentage will finally meet Friday. Kent State's Azure Fernsler sits at No. 1 with a percentage of 78% and 21 goals allowed. App State's Addie Clark follows close behind at 74% with 22 goals allowed.
The Mountaineers have had a balanced and cohesive offense this season, having eight players who have at least two goals and 15 total assists. Farrell leads the team in goals with five to go along with her one assist and shot on goal percentage of 77%.
After Friday's matchup, App State will have two more games next weekend to finish the regular season at Central Michigan. The first game (Oct. 29, Noon) will be the Mountaineers' final MAC game and the second (Oct. 30, Noon) will be against the Chippewas, but will not count towards the conference record for either team.
