Last Time Out
App State suffered a 6-1 loss to Tennessee Tech in the Mountaineers' home opener this past Sunday. This loss dropped App State to 1-4 on the season and gave TTU its first victory. The eventual final score doesn't reflect how close the competition was in actuality. After jumping on the Golden Eagles early, the App State was unable to get over the hump with slow finishes. Both doubles victories for the Golden Eagles were by two points and multiple singles matches, including Zion Heaven and Alessio Azzalini's, had frames go into tiebreakers. Despite a tough start to the year, there is promising potential on this team that hopes to end its four-game slide against the Bucs on Sunday.

Win Leaders
On a promising note after TTU took a 1-0 lead, Aleksandar Petrovic sits in the top spot for App State, as he tied the contest up at one a piece and earned his first spring victory winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. This brings Petrovic's singles record to 1-1 on the year and his victory also extends the number of Mountaineers with singles victories this season to seven. Petrovic is one of seven student-athletes who have a singles notch under their belts. Heaven leads the team with a pair of doubles wins, one with Petrovic and another with Milo Bargeron.

Scouting ETSU:
The Bucs sit at a 1-6 mark for their season coming off a 4-2 loss to VCU last Sunday. ETSU has endured two 3-game losing streaks already in this young season. The two skids are separated by a surprising 4-2 upset over No. 33 Penn State. The Bucs have strong singles and doubles play respectively, sitting at 13 victories in singles and seven in doubles. Yusuf Khamis although dropping two straight matches leads the Bucs with a 4-2 singles record. Miguel Este has earned three singles victories and there is a three-way tie for third place, with all the players amounting two wins.

What's Next
App State will travel down to Clinton, S.C. to face off against Presbyterian for a 1 p.m. matchup on Friday.
