Craig Schwartz is excited to announce the signing of Matheus Paiva.
Paiva, a native of Brazil, is the second signee for 2020-21, joining Maj Tomac. The future Mountaineer will join Tomac,
Alessio Azzalini,
Blake Carter,
Landon Church,
Zion Heaven,
Aleksandar Petrovic, and
Matvey Radionov.
"We couldn't be more excited that Matheus chose to be a Mountaineer," coach Schwartz said. "I believe he will excel in the environment we have created here. His attacking style will be beneficial for his transition to the college game. The sky is the limit for him on and off the court. Welcome to the Mountaineer family!"
Paiva checks in at an 11 on the UTR scale in singles with a 13-9 mark dating back to July of last year, while he is an 11 in doubles with four victories.
In the junior ITF rankings, he boasted a career-high ranking of 679 and was one of the top players from Brazil as he boasted a No. 3 ranking in the country.
