TEMPE, Ariz. - For a third straight year, App State men's tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic team, registering a solid 3.55 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year.
Five Mountaineers were named 2020 ITA Scholar-Athletes, which is the highest number of athletes that were honored under head coach Craig Schwartz. At least two athletes have been named a scholar athlete all three years. Also, the 3.55 GPA for the year is .28 points higher than in 2019.
Blake Carter was recognized for a third time, while Zion Heaven is a scholar athlete for the second year in a row. Alessio Azzalini, Matvey Radionov and Aleksandar Petrovic were awarded as scholar athletes for the first time.

App State was honored by the ITA in the spring for its community service efforts, as it earned a Community Service Honorable Mention award in the Carolina Region.
