CONWAY, S.C. -- App State volleyball will conclude the regular season on Thursday and Friday at Sun Belt East Division leader Coastal Carolina. The two teams will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Friday.
THE SERIES
- Coastal Carolina holds a 13-6 lead in the all-time series.
- The two teams met in Boone on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, with the Chanticleer sweeping both contests.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State enters play at 1-10 on the season and in conference play after dropping three contests at Troy by 3-1 counts last weekend.
- At Troy, Kara Spicer recorded the 1,000th kill of her Mountaineer career during the first match on Friday.
- Sarah Missroon had a strong weekend defensively, totaling 18 blocks (three solo, 15 assists) in two matches.
- Lexi Kohut has a team leading 116 kills (3.22 k/s), with Grace Morrison (59 kills; 1.74 k/s) and Spicer (58 kills; 2.07 k/s) sitting second and third.
- Emma Reilly has 160 total digs (4.00 d/s) on the season and ranks second on the team in service aces. Sophie Cain leads the Mountaineers in service aces (13) and assists (199).
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina is a perfect 14-0 on the season and in Sun Belt play and has clinched the Sun Belt East Division title.
- Anett Nemeth is averaging 4.17 k/s, which leads the league.Â
- Briggitta Petrenko leads the league in service aces per set at 0.67, with Nemeth sitting third at 0.45 service aces per set.
- As a team, the Chanticleers are holding opponents to a league best .104Â hitting percentage, while ranking second in the league with a .252 hitting mark.
