BOONE, N.C. - Three Mountaineers will represent App State women's tennis in a stacked field at the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic in Lakewood Ranch Fla.
App State will go up against programs such as Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma St. Boston College,Virginia Tech, Auburn and Michigan, Central Florida and South Florida. Seven schools in the event went to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Cassie McLay, and
María José Zacarias will represent the Apps in the nation's only collegiate tournament on clay court, bringing the country's top players from all over the country to the Sunshine State. The tournament benefits the V Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research.
The trio of student-athletes played well in the ITA Carolina Regionals last week, where they combined for seven wins. All three Mountaineers collected multiple victories with Zacarias nabbing three victories. Â
Last season, Earnhardt and
Jeannez Daniel each picked up wins over Power Five programs against Virginia Tech. Earnhardt also netted
a triumph against South Florida.Â
