BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis (3-1) seeks a second straight weekend with multiple wins as it hosts North Carolina Central on Friday before traveling to face Presbyterian on Saturday.

The Apps are coming off a 3-0 weekend after dispatching USC Upstate and defeating Lees-McRae/North Carolina in a pair of 7-0 wins.
Blake Carter and
Ben Webster had solid performances with their first-career wins coming in both days. Appalachian is on the same pace as last season with a 3-1 start in its first four matches but wouldn't get the fourth win until Feb. 25.Â
Alex Pavkovich is off to a stellar 4-0 start while
Campbell Stone and
Ben Webster are 3-1 through four contests. The all-around contributions from each Mountaineer has led to an 18-6 record (.750) in singles play.

Scott Webster and Ben/Pavkovich both have a pair of wins in doubles competition, which has helped lead to a 9-3 (.750) record in doubles action.
Scouting NC Central
Friday's contest will be the first for NCCU. The Eagles boasted a 7-15 record while all seven letterwinners return from that squad. Gabriel Cucalon is back after leading the team with a 13-8 record in singles action, and Theo Kontopoulos is also returning after posting 11 wins in singles, which was second on the squad. Kontopoulos with 11 doubles wins but will have a different partner en route to being named First Team All-MEAC honors and earning three MEAC Player of the Week awards.
Scouting Presbyterian
PC is 0-4 to start the season after falling to UNCG in a 7-0 setback. The Blue Hose have five players with victories in singles play, while Alejandro Bejar/Luis Conde are 3-1 as a doubles tandem. PC is 4-8 in doubles action.
Appalachian will begin a stretch of four straight road games starting with Eastern Kentucky next Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.Â
