BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey (4-8, 1-3 MAC) makes its longest trip of the season to Mount Pleasant, Mich., to face Central Michigan (0-11, 0-2 MAC) in a pair of weekend games. The Mountaineers and Chippewas will play a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday at noon and a nonconference game on Sunday at noon.

Appalachian State has the second highest RPI among MAC teams, just seven spots below Longwood. Out of 78 Division I teams, the Mountaineers are ranked 48th, ahead of Kent State (49), Ball State (51), Miami (59), Ohio (68) and Central Michigan (73).
Scouting Central Michigan
The Central Michigan Chippewas enter the weekend on an 11-game skid that includes being shutout nine times. The Chippewas have scored three goals this season and have not scored since Sept. 8 when they lost 4-1 at Indiana.
Carly Brengosz, Alli Huddleson and Jasmine Banks are the three Chippewas that have scored. Banks also leads the team in assists (2). Lily Amadio has served as the primary goalkeeper and has made 86 saves while allowing 32 goals.
