BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey (8-8, 3-3 MAC) will face its last two-game weekend of the regular season with a trip to No. 2 Duke on Saturday and then Senior Day against American on Sunday. The matchup in Durham is set to begin at 1 p.m. and can be followed live on
ACC Network Extra. App State will hold its Senior Day festivities at 11:45 a.m. with game time set for a noon start.

About the Mountaineers
Appalachian enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak that included three shutout wins and a 3-2 conference win at Ball State. After going 2-6 in its first eight games, App State has gone 6-2 over its last eight games for an 8-8 overall record. This is the first time since 2003 (12-8, .600) that the Mountaineers enter the final weekend with a .500 winning percentage.

Taylor Cimbalist,
Rebecca McLean,
Maddie Phillips and
Savanna Sheridan. App State will honor the seniors before the game.
Cimbalist continues to lead the Mountaineers offensively with with 11 goals, seven assists and 29 points. She is followed by
Ali Williams who has netted eight goals with two assists for 18 points. Including Cimbalist and Williams, eight Mountaineers have scored this season:

Rachel Gaines has played nearly every minute this season between the posts, logging over 1130 minutes. She has allowed 47 goals while making 107 saves.
Scouting Duke & American
The Duke Blue Devils head into Sunday's contest ranked No. 2 in the NFHCA rankings and own a 14-2 overall record and a 4-2 record in ACC play. Duke has allowed just 19 goals this season while scoring 45 and has shutout six opponents including three ranked opponents. The Blue Devil offense is led by Rose Tynan who has scored 13 goals this season. Sammi Steele has served as the primary goalkeeper making 66 saves against 175 shots.
As of Friday, Oct. 27, the American Eagles have won four of their last five games and own a 12-4 overall record and 5-1 record in the Patriot League. The Eagles have scored 55 goals as team and are led by Noor Coenen and Haley Bowcutt who have scored 13 and 10 goals, respectively. The American goalkeeper Maura Jacobs owns a 11-4 record with five shutouts and has made 35 saves.
