WALLACE, N.C. — Moving forward from having a second-place team and a first-place individual in Florida, App State Women's Golf resumes its spring schedule Monday with the start of the River Landing Classic hosted by UNCW.
The Mountaineers' runner-up finish at the 16-team Babs Steffens Invitational triggered a 22-spot rise in the NCAA team rankings and left App State with a 59-23-3 record against its competition this season, with a 14-1 record resulting from beating 14 teams and placing behind one in Florida.
Zoe Duval was named the Sun Belt Conference's Women's Golfer of the Week after recording a hole-in-one and winning the event by five strokes with a 7-under total.
Maria Pinedo,
Alisa Pressley and
Ona Lukes also finished in the top 20, while
Salem Lee opened the tournament with a 73.
In addition to App State and UNCW, the eight-team field at River Landing Golf Club northwest of Wilmington will include UNC Asheville, Kennesaw State, Ohio, North Carolina A&T, St. John's and William & Mary.
The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday, with 8:45 a.m. shotgun starts each day.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
