BOONE, N.C. — First-place App State Wrestling begins a busy weekend of road duals with a 7 p.m. showdown at Davidson on Friday.
Admission is free at the Baker Sports Complex, and the dual will be
streamed on FloWrestling.
App State improved to 8-5 overall and 5-0 in the SoCon thanks to a 23-13 home win against The Citadel last weekend. The Mountaineers have SoCon duals remaining against Davidson, Chattanooga (on the road Sunday) and Gardner-Webb (at home next Sunday, on Feb. 22).
Davidson has equaled a program record for single-season league victories thanks to its 3-2 start in SoCon action. The Wildcats, who are 5-11 overall, own league victories against Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb and VMI.
The NCAA released its second set of Coaches' Rankings on Thursday, and three Mountaineers were listed: No. 31
Jarvis Little at 133 pounds, No. 29
Kaden Keiser at 149 pounds and No. 22
Tomas Brooker at 184 pounds.
The NCAA released its first edition of the RPI on Thursday, and six Mountaineers were included in a ranking that takes into account a wrestler's winning percentage, strength of schedule and opponent's strength of schedule. The RPI includes Little (No. 23 at 133), Keiser (No. 31 at 149),
Anthony Conetta (No. 30 at 165), Brooker (No. 23 at 184),
Logan Eller (No. 32 at 197) and
Stephan Monchery (No. 22 at heavyweight).
Davidson's Tanner Peake is listed at No. 29 in the RPI at 157 pounds. He went 2-0 against App State wrestlers at the Appalachian Open and is 1-1 in SoCon duals this season. Nathan Heap, meanwhile, is 14-9 overall and 5-0 in SoCon duals at 149 pounds.
App State's 2025-26 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
