GENEVA, Ohio — Representing Boone RTC, App State wrestlers
Tomas Brooker and
Kaden Keiser led the way at the U23 Freestyle Nationals by reaching the final day thanks to 4-0 runs to the quarterfinal round of the double-elimination event.
Keiser (competing at 70 kg) and Brooker (86 kg) dropped quarterfinal matches Sunday morning and then, with 12 wrestlers left in each bracket, suffered consolation losses with top-eight finishes at stake.
Aldo Hernandez (65 kg) and
Colt Campbell (79 kg) also finished 4-2 in Ohio, while
Jarvis Little (65 kg) and
Joe Fongaro (61 kg) went 3-2.
Stephan Monchery (125 kg) and
Jeremiah Price (70 kg) completed the event with 2-2 records as 16 wrestlers competed for Boone RTC.
