BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's basketball team (2-0) remains in Boone for their third game of the season, hosting Davidson on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Holmes Convocation Center. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
The Mountaineers will honor the communities' veterans and active military for Heroes Day. Wednesday's game will also be Camp Out at Holmes. At halftime there will be a tent building competition and a sleeping bag sack race with a chance to earn an App State prize pack for each competition. The university recreation department will also be on the concourse for activities and information throughout the game.
Last Time Out
App State notched its second 100-point game of the
Alaura Sharp era (21st in program history) last Friday, defeating Bob Jones, 110-35, in the Holmes Center. The victory tied the Mountaineers' second-highest scoring output in program history, which was set on Nov. 14, 1982 against Tennessee Tech.
Freshman
Addie Biel led the charge for the Mountaineers, scoring a career high 22 points, draining 10-of-11 from the field and a perfect pair from the charity stripe. She was one of six Mountaineers to score double-figures on Friday. Fellow freshman
Isa Roman also registered a career high, netting 14 points of her own. Contributing 12 points apiece, seniors

Daisia Mitchell combined for 36 of App State's points. Pericic enters Wednesday's contest one point shy of 1,000 collegiate career points. Hege shot 100% from the arc and the field. The Mountaineers also saw perfection from graduate student
Jada Burton, who drilled 5-of-5 from the field. Biel and graduate student Zoë McCrary led the Mountaineers in rebounds, each pulling down eight. Sophomore
Feryal Defne Atli grabbed seven boards of her own for a career high. Senior
Emma Smith led App State in assists, dishing out five.
Sixty-eight of App State's 110 points were scored off the bench as the Mountaineers shot 61.8% from the field. The Mountaineers outpaced Bob Jones in rebounds (57-18), points off turnovers (21-0), and points off fast breaks (20-0). App State also held the Bruins to a field goal percentage of 22.8% and a 3-point percentage of 18.5%.

Through two games, senior Emilly Hege leads the Sun Belt and rounds out the NCAA's top five with a 3-point percentage of 83.3%. Freshman
Addie Biel also leads the league and ranks sixth nationally in field goal percentage (84.6%). Junior
Daisia Mitchell follows Biel, standing second in the league with a field goal percentage of 68.4%. Averaging 5.5 offensive rebounds per contest, graduate student Zoë McCrary leads the league and ranks 21st nationally.
App State leads the league and rounds out the NCAA's top five in defensive rebounds per game (36.0). The Mountaineers lead the Sun Belt and rank among the nation's top-25 in scoring defense (40.0) and field goal percentage (52.8%). Around the league, App State ranks among the top-five in rebounds per game (49.5), bench points per game (38.5), assists per game (17.0), 3-point percentage (40.5%), free throw percentage (73.7%), and 3-pointers per game (8.5).
Series History vs. Davidson
App State holds a 28-26 edge in its all-time series with Davidson. The Mountaineers and Wildcats last met on Nov. 29, 2023 in Davidson, N.C. App State came up short, 64-41, in the midweek tilt. Faith Alston and Chaé Harris combined for 25 of App State's points. Harris netted the Mountaineers' sole 3-point buckets of the night.

Scouting Davidson
Davidson (2-1) enters Wednesday's contest fresh off back-to-back victories over William & Mary (Nov. 6) and Florida Gulf Coast (Nov. 8). The Wildcats opened the season with a 66-57 loss to Mississippi State on Nov. 3.
Sophomore guard Kyra Bruyndoncx and senior guard Charlise Dunn are Davidson's top scorers, each averaging 14.0 points per contest. Bruyndoncx leads the A10 and ranks eighth nationally in 3-pointers (10) and ranks 12th nationally in 3-point percentage (71.4%). She also leads the league in 3-pointers per game (3.33) and ranks second in field goal percentage (64.0%). Dunn is also the Wildcats' top rebounder, averaging 5.7 boards per contest. Dishing out nine assists this season, freshman forward Ines Garcia Monje leads the team in the assists category.
Davidson leads the A10 and stands 71st nationally in free throw percentage (76.1%). Though the Wildcats rank third in the league in turnovers per game (14.7), they round out the league's top five in treys per game (8.0) and scoring defense (55.7).
On the Horizon
The Mountaineers return to the court for a 2 p.m. clash against Wofford for Sunday Funday on Nov. 16. The Holmes Convocation Center concourse will open one hour before tipoff for fans to play yard games and other activities. Following the game there will be an autograph session with the team on the concourse.
