BOONE, N.C. – App State Women's Basketball head coach
Alaura Sharp announced the addition of seven newcomers to the Mountaineers' roster.
"We are proud and excited to announce our newcomer class. They align with the core values of our program. They will add depth, talent and maturity to our team. I am excited to see where this team can go," said Sharp.
The incoming class features a dynamic mix of impactful transfers and highly-decorated high school standouts. Here is a look at the newest additions to the App Family:
Jadyn Atchison | 6' 1" | G | Cedar Hill, Texas | Cedar Hill HS | Colorado, Old Dominion, UT Arlington
Atchison comes to Boone as an experienced, versatile guard ready to make an immediate impact on the court. Spending her junior season at UT Arlington, she averaged eight points and three rebounds per contest, highlighted by an explosive 19-point performance in just 24 minutes against Cal Baptist. Prior to her time with the Lady Mavericks, Atchison gained valuable experience on the floor at Colorado and Old Dominion.
A decorated prep star, she was a three-time first team all-district honoree and a McDonald's All-American nominee, twice earning both TABC 6A all-region and TGCA 6A all-state honors. Off the court, Atchison enjoys dancing, painting, listening to music and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Jaida McClure | 5' 9" | G | Charlotte, N.C. | Providence Day
A local North Carolina standout, McClure joins App State following a stellar high school career at Providence Day School in Charlotte. McClure was a dominant force on the court, eclipsing the 1,000-point milestone while leading her team in points, assists, and steals. Her efforts earned her three all-conference and all-state selections, as well as Offensive Player of the Year honors. She successfully guided her squad to a state championship appearance in 2023.
On the grassroots circuit, she competed with the Lady Push 3SSB club team. At App State, McClure plans to study psychology. Outside of basketball, she has a hidden talent for juggling, enjoys building Legos and loves spending time with her family and her nephew.
Camiah Muldrow | 5' 7" | G | Fairburn, Ga. | Link Academy | Cloud County CC
A junior college standout, Muldrow arrives in Boone after a spectacular freshman campaign at Cloud County Community College. Muldrow lit up the scoreboard, averaging 17.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Her offensive success earned her second team All-KJCCC D1 honors, a season highlighted by five different games where she scored 28 or more points.
Muldrow also brings a championship pedigree to the high school level, having won a high school state title in 2022.
Raven Preston | 5' 11" | G | Greensboro, N.C. | Southeast Guilford/Quality Education | Elon, Wake Forest
Preston joins the Mountaineers after making an impact at the Power 5 level with Wake Forest. Preston appeared in the first nine games of the 2026 season for the Demon Deacons, adding a spark from off the bench to help fuel a perfect 9-0 start—their best opening stretch since the 2008–09 season—before her year was cut short due to injury. Despite the limited action, she put up highly-productive numbers, averaging 8.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Before her stint in Winston-Salem, Preston starred in three seasons at Elon, where she started all 57 games she played. She was named the 2025 CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned 2025 All-CAA second team honors, and made program history as the first Phoenix player to ever win CAA Rookie of the Year in 2023.
Torin Rogers | 6' 1" | G | Brasstown, N.C. | Murphy HS | Richmond, UNCW
A Brasstown, N.C. native, Rogers brings championship experience and veteran versatility to the High Country. Rogers was part of an A10 regular season and tournament championship squad during her time at Richmond before transferring to UNCW. In her redshirt-junior season with the Seahawks, she appeared in 29 games and made 21 starts, logging a season-high 18 points against Presbyterian and collecting a season-high four steals against West Georgia.
In high school, Rogers was a powerhouse at Murphy High School, where she was a two-time state champion, district Player of the Year, two-time Smokey Mountain Conference Player of the Year, and a four-time all-conference selection. The 1,000-point scorer was also a McDonald's All-American nominee and a two-time Regional Athlete of the Year, while additionally earning all-state and all-conference honors in volleyball.
Rogers graduated early with her bachelor's degree in political science from UNCW in Spring 2025. At App State, she plans to pursue her master's degree in public administration with a focus in government, with long-term aspirations of attending law school.
Zoe Smith | 6' 2" | F | Durham, N.C. | Chapel Hill HS
Smith comes to App State following a highly productive four-year varsity career as a starter at Chapel Hill High School. Smith anchored her high school squad, leading the team in both scoring and blocks per game. She established herself as one of the region's top interior players, ranking second in the conference in double-doubles and third in rebounding, ultimately securing first-team all-conference honors during her senior season. She boasts a career-high of 20 points, alongside senior season-highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Athleticism runs deep in the Smith family. Her older sister, Laynie, plays volleyball at North Carolina, and her twin sister, Eva, plans to play collegiate volleyball as well. In her free time, Smith enjoys art, puzzles and listening to music.
Joi Williams | 5' 6" | G | Leesburg, Va. | Virginia Academy | Radford
A premier scorer, Williams joins the Mountaineers after boasting an incredibly decorated collegiate and prep background. Williams comes to App State having already surpassed the 1,000-point milestone across three seasons at Radford. Her recent accolades include being a two-time All-Big South first team honoree (2025, 2026) and a two-time Big South all-tournament team selection (2024, 2026). During the 2026 postseason, she scored the third-most points ever recorded in a single Big South Tournament, building off a season where averaged 15.1 points per game while shooting 37% from beyond the arc. Along with the all-tournament selection in 2024, she also was named to the Big South all-freshman team for the 2023-24 season.
Prior to college, Williams was a phenom at Virginia Academy, where she was a three-time state champion and a three-time Virginia State Player of the Year, finishing her historic prep career with 1,903 points.
