CLEMSON, S.C. - App State senior
Jasmine Donohue broke the program women's 3,000-meter record as the Mountaineers closed competition at the Clemson's Orange and Purple Invitational on Saturday. In total, the Mountaineers broke three records and tallied 25 top-15 finishes at the meet.
"Overall, it was a really good meet for the program," said director of track & field/cross country
Damion McLean. "We are going to take a lot from this and learn from the small to the bigger things that were put in front of us. I'm extremely excited about how our distance program is progressing and maturing."
Donohue stopped the clock at 9:32.67 for a personal best and new program record in the women's 3,000 meters. The previous App State record was 9:39.84, set in 2009 by Meghan Gaffney. Donohue finished sixth in Saturday's race. Donohue also posted a personal best of 4:50.68 to place 12th in the women's mile on Friday. Graduate student
Lauren Johnston finished 11th in the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 9:41.73, which moved her to fourth in the App State all-time list. Johnson also broke the school record in the women's 1,000 meters with a time of 2:52.76 on Friday.
In the women's 800 meters, junior
Addison Ollendick-Smith finished 11th with a time of 2:14.61 and freshman
Savannah Moore clocked a personal best of 2:15.72 to place 14th. Ollendick-Smith had reset her own App State program record in the women's 600 meters with a personal best of 1:33.95 on Friday.
Sophomore
Kendall Johnson recorded a personal best of 41.41 to place 12th in the women's 300 meters. In the women's shot put, freshmen
Brittany Ellis and
Emily Edwards finished 12th and 13th, respectively. Ellis recorded a personal best toss of 11.93m (39' 1.75") and Edwards recorded a toss of 11.52m (37' 9.5").

Corlasia Scott closed competition with a 13th-place finish, stopping the clock at 3:58.88.
Friday Rewind
On Friday, senior
Emma Russum stopped the clock at 17:00.66 for a personal best and first place finish in the women's 5,000 meters. Russum's time moved her to third in the App State all-time list. Sophomore
Mary Biagini finished sixth in the event with a time of 18:34.31.
In addition to Ollendick-Smith's record-setting performance and second place finish in the women's 600 meters, Moore placed eighth with a time of 1:36.45. Senior

Ava Studney tied for 11th with a clearance of 3.72m (12' 2.5") in the invitational section of the women's pole vault on Friday. Meanwhile, graduate student

Caroline Fowlkes tied for sixth (3.57m (11' 8.5"), PR), and freshman
Abigail Goetz tied for eighth (3.42m (11' 2.5") in the women's pole vault.
Sophomore
Dianna Boykin and Edwards finished among the top-15 in the women's weight throw with personal best tosses of 14.10m (46' 3.25") and 14.09m (46' 2.75"), respectively.
On the track, freshman
Ja'Naya Linder finished 16th in the women's 400 meters with a time of 56.80, which moved her to ninth in the App State all-time list. Sophomore
Kendall Johnson finished 16th in the women's 60-meter semifinals with a time of 7.59 after advancing with a time of 7.58 in the prelims.
