Raleigh, N.C. – The Mountaineers track team participated in the Raleigh Relays this weekend. Breaking a school and meet record while claiming six more spots in the top 10 in school history.
What happened
App State opened the meet strongly with multiple performances that landed in the top 10 in school history. Freshman Aidan Kneeland ran the 1500m with a time of 3:49.27, placing him ninth overall in the school record books. Aaron Kidd ran the 10000m, finishing with a time of 29:55.03, moving him into the top five all-time.
The Mountaineers showed out in the men's 5000m. Noah Martinson ran a time of 14:19.12, putting him sixth all-time, and Rowan Gwin finished just after him with a time of 14:21.99, bringing him up to ninth all-time.
Matthew Gray had a career weekend. He broke his PB, set a new school record, and broke the meet record with a pole vault of 5.47m/17-11.25, placing him top 10 in the NCAA this outdoor season.
Parker Kinney had a fantastic 400m, running a time of 46.64, placing him third in school history and finishing seventh.
In the women's hammer throw, Emily Edwards set a new PB with a toss of 51.27m/168-2, finishing in the top 20. Jake Stanley tossed a Javelin 55.04m/180-7, setting a PB and placing him sixth all-time in school history.
