Four App State Wrestlers Ranked by NCAA Coaches

BOONE, N.C. — The first set of NCAA Coaches' Rankings for the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships includes four App State wrestlers: Will Miller (No. 7 at 165 pounds), Luke Uliano (No. 28 at 174 pounds), Carson Floyd (No. 28 at 197 pounds) and Chad Bellis (No. 33 at 133 pounds).

Counting non-Division I wins, Miller is 13-1 overall with a 4-1 record against ranked opponents (wins against Minnesota's Patrick Sparks, Virginia Tech's Mac Church, NC State's Derek Fields and The Citadel's Thomas Snipes). In his only loss, he held a last-minute lead against No. 3 Peyton Hall from West Virginia.

Uliano (11-6 overall) is 1-5 against ranked foes (all five losses by decision), with a 19-3 tech fall against returning All-American Lennox Wolak, while Floyd (17-5 overall) is 2-2 against ranked opponents (wins against NC State's Christian Knop, The Citadel's Patrick Brophy).

Bellis (13-9 overall) has two wins this season against returning NCAA Championships qualifiers.

The coaches' rankings are determined by a vote of 16 coaches in each weight class, with two head coaches from each of the eight conferences. Wrestlers must have eight Division I matches in the weight class to be considered, with at least one within the last 30 days, so some wrestlers ranked by national publications don't meet the current standard to be in the NCAA Coaches' Rankings.

The coaches' ranking is one of several criteria that will be evaluated by the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee during the at-large selection and seeding process, along with head-to-head competition, quality wins, Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), conference tournament placement, results versus common opponents and win percentage. The 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships take place from March 20-22 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The SoCon Championships will be held March 7-8 at UNC Asheville's Kimmel Arena, and the NCAA Coaches' Rankings contribute to how many automatic NCAA berths will be allocated at each weight. Currently, there are 19 SoCon wrestlers included in the NCAA Coaches' Rankings:
