Bosma, Grenis Sweep MAC Player of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – App State forward Charlotte Bosma and goalkeeper Claire Grenis were named MAC players of the week for the second time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.

It is the second time that Bosma and Grenis have received MAC player-of-the-week honors, the first coming after their performances against Towson and Georgetown earlier in the season. Tuesday's announcement makes it the first time since the 2022 season that the Mountaineers have swept the weekly player awards twice in one season.

Bosma receives Offensive Player of the Week, and Grenis receives Defensive Player of the Week following a shutout win over Ohio to open conference play on Friday.

In Friday's matchup against Ohio, Bosma scored the first goal in a game the Mountaineers never trailed in. She finished the game with two shots and a goal, her fourth of the season. She was also involved in the game's second goal from Florine Koopman, playing a pivotal role in earning the corner that she scored from.

Grenis had a great game against Ohio, once again holding the opponent scoreless. Grenis finished the game with four saves, knocking away all of Ohio's shots-on-goal. Friday's matchup is the third shutout on the season, a MAC high.

The Mountaineers will stay in the High Country for their first home conference game against Bellarmine on Friday. First touch at the Dr. Jan C. Watson Field at the Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field Hockey Complex is slated for 6 p.m.
