App State Tennis standouts
Savannah Dada-Mascoll and
Isabela Romanichen are ranked the 23
rd best doubles team in the nation, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday.
"Savannah and Isa being ranked #23 as a doubles pairing is a reflection of their hard work and commitment that they show consistently on and off the court," second year head coach Hannah Fetters said. "I am incredibly proud of them, and this gives us some great momentum heading into our spring season. Our focus will continue to remain on improving every day and pushing ourselves to be better."
The ranking comes after an impressive fall campaign from the duo, winning the ITA Conference Masters Championships and qualifying for the NCAA Doubles Championships, both for the first time in program history.
It has been a fall season of firsts, as the ranking also marks the first time in program history that App State Tennis has been nationally ranked in doubles.
The Mountaineers aim to carry their energy from the fall into the spring season, beginning on Jan. 17. App State will take on the VCU Rams in Richmond, Va. to begin spring play.
